Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. Norman Vincent Peale
We had an amazing Xmas! Everything was truly perfect! No, there weren’t a ton of presents. No, there wasn’t a visit down the chimney from Good Ole St. Nick. What there was was a perfect meal, if I do say so myself. The ham was absolutely tender and all the side dishes were marvelous! I am not tooting my own horn, but I am a wicked cook.
I even managed to screw up the stuffing and by some bizarre mistake that I usually don’t make figured out how to make my stuffing even more fluffy. See I put in the butter, onions, leeks and celery but spaced out the water. LOL, silly me. So I added the stuffing to the sauteed ingredients minus the water. After I realized that I had forgotten the water I added just about 1 cup and the stuffing came out absolutely buttery and fluffy. What a cool mistake. The German Chocolate Cake I made from scratch was a big hit also. We had great company, wonderful food and it even managed to snow! I have a ton of pics to share with all my WordPress friends. I hope you enjoy!

You’re with family, people you love – that’s what makes Christmas great! Great food and snow is a definite bonus. I did the traditional extended family gathering in upstate NY and it was a lot fun. No snow yet, but we did hike on the trails on X-mas day.
