I Am So Thankful!!!!!!!!!

I Am So Thankful!!!!!!!!!

I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose. Woody Allen

I have so much to be thankful for today! I am busier than ever with music “stuff” and the band is doing really well. I am cooking dinner for the family and friends that have chosen to spend their holiday with us. So, over the next two days I will be cleaning and cooking like a mad woman. My husband is healthy and so am I, what more could you really ask for? Rosie and Mojo are doing great! They are very happy animals and have adjusted to living with each other in harmony. We have a great gig coming up this weekend and I am so thankful for Brother Bob, my friend of over 12 years, for sitting in with us, he has such a beautiful spirit. I am also thankful for Harmonica Rick Gibson for sitting in and being a part of us!

This is an excerpt from an article I wrote in 2010 and it’s amazing how the words still hold true for our current economic crisis!

Much like the first pilgrims, many families have seen the last two years as very harsh with job loss, lack of money for even the most simple staples as food, and many have had to go without some of the basic necessities of life. This year I think it is more important than ever that we remember those of us who have been less fortunate. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful gesture this year to give back a little of the good fortune we have had to those less fortunate. We can all do this in small ways by simply donating food to a food bank, clothes to a shelter or place that donates the clothing to needy families, or even volunteering at a shelter or soup kitchen.

This holiday season take a few minutes to find a way to give back, even if you have been less than fortunate, we all have something we can give this holiday season that is sure to warm the heart of some other person out there who has less than you. Be thankful and full of joy this holiday season!

With that I leave you with Miss Billie Holiday…. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving!

  1. Thank you so much for your wonderful reminder! I am here on Long Island, NY to celebrate the holiday. Many of the people who live here lost everything. As I delivered supplies yesterday and viewed the devastation, I am reminded of exactly what you wrote about in 2010. I have a lot to be grateful. My prayers to all this Thanksgiving, especially those survivors of Sandy. In peace, Kathleen (one of the lipstick chatters)
