My spirits are incredibly high. I have had some very good karmic payback over the last couple of weeks. The new band is going so well, and Mike and I have waited for a band like this to come along for so long. We have both been in bands together through the years but never quite this good. EZ Street is picking up gigs faster than any of us could have anticipated and for the band this is absolutely a testament to the chemistry we have as a band. We all have our financial worries, many of us have no full time jobs and these gigs are going to make the difference in whether we have gas or not, so this is a great thing for us all. If only we were independently wealthy. Fortunately I got my new position freelance writing for The Travel Council Magazine which will take some of the pressure off of Mike, not all of it, but some. These gigs are really going to help us out financially. I am happy and content, busy but happy. It didn’t even phase me this week when I was trying to get a promoter to help us get some of these bigger events and he was short with me and very rude. He treated me like crap and if he were to approach me tomorrow and say he wants to help us out I would basically tell him to get bent! The sad thing of it is is that I know this band is that good and he just screwed up and closed any door with us that he might have hoped to have in the future. To make matters worse the guy works with my producer in another local band. It’s sad that people have to pull that holier than thou, my poo doesn’t stink attitude. C’est la vie my friend, you just burned that bridge by your very attitude. It’s ok because I know that I am a strong enough person and have enough where-with-all that I can do it myself, I was just trying to take some of the pressure off of myself, but I will just keep on keeping on. :)

This is the latest in a series of videos I have been working on for months now. I am happily exhausted. I am up after only a few hours sleep after last nights gig. I am happier with this new line-up of musicians that we have hired on than I have been in the longest time! To read more about the jam last night go to my EZ Street A Day in the Life blog. Life is very good. My poor Mojo still has a little cold, but he’s a happy cat. He has a home food and milk and a dog that likes to sniff him, what more could he ask for? My brother is ok after hitting that cow. He’s a little bruised, but he did the smartest thing. When he saw the cow he didn’t even try to swerve, he knew it was far too late so he braced himself and hit it straight on. I know it’s terrible and I feel so bad for the cow. What angers me about this whole damnable thing is that my brother could have been killed and all because these damn ranchers are allowed to let their cattle free range. It’s dangerous and they should be required to put up fencing! Not only that but they can sue the person who hit the cow! What kind of BS assbackwards crap is that. Anyway, I am just ever so grateful he is alive. Life is good!

Well this is it! The final day before The Celtic festival. We will spend the day rehearsing and getting ready for the Ceilidh tonight at 6pm. This will be my last blog until after the Festival is done and over with. We have rehearsed so much my left wrist is sore! If you would like to hear some of the songs we are playing for The Ceilidh tonight you can here then at my EZ Street a Day in the Life blog, I posted all of the songs for tonight on there. Hopefully I will have lots of pictures to share with you when we are done tomorrow. I bet you are all sick to death of hearing about this thing, but it is so important to me. I have never felt so much nervousness and importance about any other gig we have done before, so sorry if I’m going on and on about it.
Our clothes are cleaned and ready to go, all except Mike’s hat. I need to clean his fedora today because he can’t decide whch hat to wear. Man, I really wish that was my toughest decision, LOL. We have one more rehearsal and then we just have to get on that stage and hope we have done enough to prepare. The songs will be what they are and there isn’t any more that we can do about it except hope we do them justice. I didn’t have time to order a shirt for the gig so a few weeks ago I made my own. I wanted to order this really cute dress from Wales with the Welsh dragon that is on the Welsh flag on it but it would have taken too long. So I took a plain white shirt and sharpies and made my own. Here it is:
Other than that I took a few minutes out with my camera yesterday to run the batteries down so that I could recharge then for today and I got this cool pic of a grasshopper:
Other than that, everything is great. I am happy and nervous. I hope I will have a lot to share with you when I get back. Here is another song that we are doing for the festival that I didn’t post at the other blog, it’s a song we are doing by Badfinger called “Day After Day“. Badfinger was from Swansea, Wales and in the late 60’s and early 70’s it was thought that they were going to be the next Beatles, in fact The Beatles helped them get their start. Unfortunately they were plagued by bad luck and bad management and Pete Ham inevitably committed suicide and was later followed by Tom Evans in another suicide.

My Buddha Blog is a personal journey that started on New Year’s Eve of 2011 and will hit it’s one year evolution on 12-31-2012. It’s amazing how much one can go through in one year on the search for spiritual growth. My EZ Street Blog is all about my journey as a musician and all that is involved with the life of a professional musician. I will be discussing the daily joys and frustrations that go along with being in the entertainment field. I am very curious to see the evolution one year from now. I can tell you the path has been a long one and it won’t stop until I am on my death bed. So for those of you who follow my blogs, thanks for coming along for the ride. For those of you who have been following my blog I have started a new one that deals solely with my career as a musician. I started my Buddha blog 9 months ago as a personal journey and I have loved it and will continue to keep it up. This new blog at EZ Street Blog is a journal that deals only with music. I have never been more focused on my career as a musician than now and I thought it would be interesting to see where my journey takes me a year from now. So, for those of you out there that have been following me I hope you will join me on my journey down the long and winging road of music and let me tell you what a strange trip it has already been! I think this blog would also be of interest to those out there that are interested in a career as a professional musician in their local area. I have no delusions of grandeur, never have. I am just a simple woman that happens to have a career as a performing artist and never have wanted the big lights and fast money. All I ever wanted to do was sing.
Some of my fellow bloggers have asked where they can get copies of our music. You can go to our EZ Street Home Page and there is a brown button that will take you to Music Store CD Baby where you can buy copies of songs that we have paid for the licensing on covers. Right now the only song we have available for MP3 download is “Comfortably Numb” and it’s $1.49. It’s a slow process because we have to pay for each song to be licensed if it is a cover tune and then we also have to pay a fee to CD Baby to put it out there for sale, so at the end of the day we don’t make money, all it does is get our music out there for people to have for their MP3 players. You can also click the blue button on the right and listen to many of the songs we have produced and watch the YouTube videos I have produced so far. Thank you to everyone that has been so supportive of me and us. I hope that sometime soon after the Celtic Festival is over to get in the studio and produce a CD with the songs we are doing from the Celtic Festival. Peace my friends, Jaz
