The New Year has caught me unaware. We had several gigs booked through the holidays and I got a little overwhelmed. Also I thought for sure Mike & I were going to lose everything and I was feeling very scared. Along with all of that I am just physically worn down because I have been fighting a wicked cold off and on for about a month now and it is making me tired and unable to sleep soundly at night. I am really ok. We all go through these wicked spells in our life when it seems that life itself has handed you more than you can possibly take. Fortunately I am a strong woman and I can get through it. Enough about that. I have a desk full of work, gigs scheduled for the band and the acoustic project all the way through to August and Mike & I are ok for now. He got a reprieve from Unemployment and he will hopefully secure a job that he interviewed for.

Sick or not I survived the gig last night. It was a great time and we had a full house all night long. My voice held up all night, which was a blessing and I was real worried. It was a very nice acoustic gig and is a nice change up from the whole 5 piece band. I hope the New Year finds everyone happy and healthy. We are set to play at the New Frontier Club tomorrow night and it should be fun! Here a re a few random pics from the gig at the Brewery.

Freedom

For me this July 4th my celebration of freedom isn’t solely about my countries independence from an oppressor and liberation from a country that my ancestors fought so valiantly to escape. My celebration this July 4th is a celebration of my sobriety and freedom from a wicked evil oppressor far more vicious and damning. Many of my friends will be out partying tonight, many of my friends will be enjoying their 4th in a much different way than I intend upon enjoying my 4th. Thank Buddha that for the first time in many years I may actually remember what the fireworks looked like, I may recall the sound of rockets exploding in the sky. It’s going to be a fabulous 4th!

Memorial Day Family and Friend Dedication

This is a youtube video I just produced of a cover we did of “Nights in White Satin” by the Moody Blues. The pictures are all from the last year and include pictures from a birth, my great nephew Hunter Miller, my nephews wedding, Jacob to Amanda Miller, Mike’s birthday/ Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter, and Kira’s graduation. Michael and I went into the studio and recorded this around 2008 and we still play it. It’s a beautiful song and I wanted to share with my family and friends what a beautiful year this has been. This is a great way to remember Memorial Day 2012. Aquarius Horoscope for week of March 29, 2012

Last December a woman in Tulsa, Oklahoma made creative use of a Wal-Mart. She gathered various ingredients from around the shelves, including lighter fluid, lithium, and drain cleaner, and set up a meth lab right there in the back of the store. She’s your role model for the coming week, Aquarius. APRIL FOOL! I lied, kind of. The woman I mentioned got arrested for illegal activity, which I don’t advise you to do. But I do hope you will ascend to her levels of ingenuity and audacity as you gather all the resources you need for a novel experiment. 

I guess Rob, the writer of Free Will Astrology, has decided to play an April Fool’s on my sobriety this week.  All I could do when I read this was laugh. It’s so funny how he gets the nail on the head so frequently and this week he hit my sobriety nail on the head.

I have no great pearls of wisdom for you my darling daughter on your 18th birthday in less than two days. I can tell you this,that when you were born into this world you brought joy and beauty with you. Your laughter is the sweetest, your natural gifts are amazing and you are one of the most beautiful creatures nature ever created. I feel lucky to be your mother, I feel graced for having been the one fortunate enough to give you life, and I feel pride at the beautiful young woman I see before me….Pearls of wisdom…I have none,  just a loving wish from me to you that each new day will blossom more beautiful than the last and that you will have happiness and find that great path in life leading you to your greatest expectations.
